On Thursday, August 25, 2016 we presented a staged reading of tender of you too by Anya Richkind. tender of you too follows Allegra and Tara after they’re cast in their high school play as Frances Willard and Mary Bannister—two real-life late-19th Century leaders of the Women’s Christian Temperance Movement. Frances’ diary and her correspondence with Mary, the basis for the school play, describes a genuine, beautiful love between the two women. Through performing this love story, Allegra and Tara slowly realize their feelings for each other, and try, with varying degrees of success, to deal with how messy it has all become.
